American Cartoonists,
Nazi Germany and the Holocaust

June 1 - July 31, 2012

An Exhibit by The Harriet and Kenneth Kupferberg Holocaust Resource Center and Archives

American superheroes came on the scene in the 1940s as World War II was raging in Europe.  Superman, Captain America, Sub Mariner, the Human Torch and others, were created to fight Hitler and the Nazi Regime.  At the same time, the well-known Dr. Seuss was using his artistic talents to persuade the American public to support the Allies and to do more to save Europe from the Nazi threat.

Visit the Holocaust Museum during June & July to learn more about America's cartoonists during the 1930s and 1940s.
