Naples Holocaust Museum relocating to new space after receiving $1 million donation

The Holocaust Museum and Education Center in Naples is relocating to a new space after receiving a million-dollar donation.

In early December, the museum, currently located in the Sandalwood Square Plaza off U.S. 41, started a capital campaign to reach a goal of $3.5 million toward finding a new home for its large collection of World War II and Holocaust artifacts.

To the organization’s surprise, it has almost reached the goal with more than $2 million raised as of early April.

“It’s been just a few months, so it’s been very exciting,” said Executive Director Susan Suarez of the Holocaust Museum & Education Center.

The donations come from a combination of Holocaust survivors, longtime volunteers, board members and others who have visited the museum.
