Do Some Good

The Holocaust Museum & Education Center was recently mentioned in a Florida Weekly article about volunteers for local non-profits.

Thousands of volunteers set to work every day through Southwest Florida, lending their time and talents for everything from mentoring students of migrant families and visiting with hospice patients to collecting food from restaurants and grocery stores for distribution to the hungry and handing out diapers to working families struggling to make ends meet. That doesn’t begin to describe the hundreds of local organizations and causes — in education and the arts, the outdoors and animals, technology, sports, politics, housing and history, to name a few categories — that depend on volunteers. With so many choices, where do you start to find the right place to give your time, energy, insight, or experience?
