Picturebook History: Teaching the Story to Children

Visit the Museum to learn about eight stories about the people and events related to World War II and the Holocaust.   Highlighted in the exhibit are the books:

  • Irena Sendler and the Children of the Warsaw Ghetto, by Susan Goldman Rubin
  • Eli  Remembers, by Ruth Vander Zee
  • Just Being Audrey, by Margaret Cardillo
  • Erika’s Story, but Ruth Vander Zee
  • The Journey of Curious George, by Louise Borden
  • The Anne Frank Case, by Susan Goldman Rubin
  • Passage to Freedom: The Sugihara Story, by Ken Mochizuki
  • Owl Be Home for Christmas, but Maggie Gadsby

Included in the exhibit are edited manuscripts from Vander Zee, Cardillo and Gadsby, as well as draft and final illustrations by Bill Farnsworth.

Sunday, Nov. 15 and Dec. 6 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm
A storytelling and craft time with Executive Director, Amy Snyder
Children ages 8 – 12 are welcome, limit to 20 children
